Training
German Shepherds
If you are an owner of a GSD (German
Shepherd Dog), then you should know that training him is
extremely important. The German Shepherds are one of the best
athlete dogs in the World. These dogs are known for being
versatile, persistent, athletic and great performers.
The first step to start training German
shepherds is to go to the veterinary and see if they
are in good conditions. A thorough medical exam must be
performed I n order to discard problems with the dog.
After the medical exam is complete, you can now begin
training your
GSD. If your dog is still a puppy you can take advantage of
the situation. Dogs learn better when they are small and just
creating obedience habits. You can train a dog as small as four
months old. The first training sessions must be short and
consisting of a few exercises, you start getting your dog used
to these practice sessions. You can start teaching your dog
obedience training, this include the basic commands that then
will let you go further.
On every session, observe your dog. Your GSD can start
showing signs of stress and fatigue, and this should be a
warning sign to go slower with the training.
When looking for options for training German Shepherds, you
will find that you can train your dog yourself or finding some
instructor. There are many great books ready to download online
that teach you all about German shepherds and the proper way to
train them. On the other hand, if you are considering hiring an
instructor, be sure to talk with him/her first and agree on the
ways to train a dog. Some people might find some methods harsh.
Just try to go through a method you feel comfortable with.
